"Speed is a way to not face what happens to your body and your mind, to avoid important questions... We travel constantly along the fast lane, loaded with emotions, adrenaline, stimuli, and that makes us never have the time and tranquility we need to reflect and ask ourselves what is really important."
Carl Honoré "Elogio of slowness"
Slowslow in English, it's an adjective that feels great to most of the things we do in life. Many of these things acquire, thanks to slow, an almost unknown dimension in a context where speed, speed and immediacy prevail.
Interestingly, even our free time and leisure live it fast. That is why we are generating currents of thought that advocate to make it "slow" essential in many areas of our lives and, of course, also in our holidays and in our travels. It's the so-called tourism slow. A way to travel and enjoy our breaks based on deceleration, connection to the local, interest in the unique of each site, search for alternative places, experience of sustainable displacement, walking....
In our Hostel We feel that we are on the verge of this kind of tourism. Indeed the Camino de Santiago and the nature of the pilgrimage, at this slow pace, have one of its most essential elements. This slogan which identifies us also becomes explicit on the occasions when we have participated in the organization of meditation and yoga retreats. Even on the occasions that we have welcomed people who have value the peculiarity of our accommodation for its less massified and impersonal location, for the personalized attention, in small groups and for close contact with nature.
